How do I qualify for legal assistance?
- You must have a problem that has a legal remedy.
- You must
have a legal problem that can be resolved through the Kansas courts.
- You must be the plaintiff or defendant in a Kansas court
action.
- You must be eligible for free or reduced fee legal assistance.

What if I don’t qualify for KLS assistance?

If you have been charged with a crime, you should ask the
District Court to appoint
an attorney for you. Click

If you are not eligible for KLS assistance, you may call the Kansas
Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service (1-800-928-3111).
Staff of the Lawyer Referral Service will provide you with the names
and
contact
information of attorneys in your area who specialize in area of law
you have a question about.
