Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) SNAP is the name for the federal Food Stamp Program. It helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need for good health. 
You may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or more commonly known as foodstamps.
