LIEAP available for utility help for Kansans May 1 through May 31

In response to COVID-19, the Department of Children and Families is re-opening the application period for the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) between May 1 to May 29, 2020 for Kansans who have not received LIEAP benefits in 2020.

 

LIEAP helps qualifying residential customers with a onetime payment for their primary heating bills.

 

Please submit completed forms to your local DCF office. Applications can also be completed through the DCF website: www.dcf.ks.gov

 

Before mailing your application, make sure you have:
✓ Answered all questions completely
✓ Signed and dated the application
✓ Included your gas and electric account numbers
✓ Included income records for all household members over the age of 18

Attached are versions of the LIEAP applications (Spanish and English) as well as a flier with a brief summary of the LIEAP program as well as dates and information needed when applying.

If you are interested, please apply for utility help. You can submit applications on-line or by paper application. Paper applications will need to be mailed or placed in the drop box of the local DCF (Department of Children and Families) office in your community.
