ATTORNEY - EXPUNGEMENTS

Kansas Legal Services seeks a Kansas-licensed staff attorney to handle expungements assisting persons with mental health issues.

The starting salary for this position is $55,000.  Excellent paid employee benefits include: health, dental, life, disability, malpractice insurance, bar dues, CLE and paid parking. KLS is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness; and eligible to apply for loan repayment assistance through Legal Service Corporation’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program.

ATTORNEY - PITTSBURG

Kansas Legal Services - Pittsburg seeks a staff attorney to practice general poverty law representing low-income Kansans. Case work will focus on solving civil, legal problems that will increase the social and economic stability of the individual. Focus practice areas will include family, elder and housing law as well as work with victims of crime. The office serves Allen, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson Counties.

PARENT ADVOCATE - DODGE CITY, GARDEN CITY

We seek to hire a Parent Advocate to invest in Kansas families and to help preventchild placement into foster care.

We are looking for a person to cover Southwest Kansas including Dodge City, Garden City and other areas nearby.

The ideal candidate will have social work training or “lived experience” through involvement as a foster parent or in a child in need of care case. The essential skills include having great communication and organizational skills, patience and empathy.

This position does not require a four year degree, but it would be helpful.
