ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

Kansas Legal Services seeks a full-time secretary in our administrative office in Topeka. Duties include: data entry, preparing correspondence, scanning and organizing files, mass mailings, sending surveys and compiling results, assisting with board meetings, and other administrative duties as assigned. Strong organizational and computer skills required, and comfort with Google Workspace preferred. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced office. This is an entry-level position.

ACCOUNTANT

Kansas Legal Services seeks a full-time Accountant to work in our Administrative Office in Topeka. Some specific responsibilities include being the liaison between the accounting department and the research and development department. This position will perform a variety of general accounting functions along with preparing invoicing and overseeing project reimbursement. They will provide backup of processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, processing invoices and other accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, bookkeeping and budget management. A successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience in accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field along with 3+ years of accounting practice. The ideal candidate will have experience with Great Plains.

Kansas Legal Services – Kansas City seeks a Kansas-licensed staff attorney to practice family law and general poverty law representing low income Kansans, and specifically, survivors of domestic violence. Casework will focus on solving civil legal problems that will increase the social and economic stability of the individual, primarily with family law matters. The office serves Franklin, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami and Wyandotte counties.

One position will provide mainly civil legal assistance.

The other position will be working with our Parent Advocate Program. This program works with families facing challenges in an innovative prevention program that expands legal services available to families.  Some travel is involved.
