KLS, Goodwill Industries and KOCH Corporation Host Expungement Clinic in Wichita April 10
Event Details
WICHITA — Goodwill Industries of Kansas (GWKS) and partners from Kansas Legal Services and Koch will host a free expungement clinic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 10 at Goodwill Industries of Kansas, 3351 N. Webb Rd., Wichita.
The clinic is designed for community members who are seeking to clear prior arrests or past felony misdemeanor convictions from their records.
“Access to an expungement clinic can be life-changing for individuals. Clearing a record helps remove barriers to employment, stable housing and educational opportunities," said Lauren Soliday, vice president of operations at GWKS. “We’re proud to stand alongside individuals in our community as they take this important step towards a brighter future.”
To qualify for this clinic, individuals must meet certain criteria. Professionals from Kansas Legal Services will help determine if those interested meet the eligibility criteria.
Interested community members must call 316-267-3975 or email kls_expunge@klsinc.org before April 6 to determine if they are eligible for an expungement.
Once eligibility has been determined, community members can make an appointment for the clinic. The eligibility determination process and the clinic are both free for participants.
“At Koch, our pro bono work focuses on removing barriers and creating opportunities for earned success. Efforts like this clinic, alongside Kansas Legal Services and Goodwill, demonstrate how legal support and community partnerships can help people move forward and unleash their true potential,” said Nate Jiwanlal, chief counsel-transactional services at Koch.
